St Augustine College Sydney as a part of its faith and mission has been putting up its SEA (Service, Education and Awareness) program. The SEA Programme is an active and ongoing, with many new ventures and projects, both big and small, set each year for the students and College community to be a part of. In 2012 SEA programme kicked off with a group of 7 staff and 19 Year 10 students travelling to Nepal. The first week saw them split into two groups and travel to separate schools in two very different locations. The larger group travelled for eight hours to a remote village in the Gorka region where they undertook the demanding task of cement rendering stacked stone buildings at a local school. Their efforts were tireless and they achieved one month’s work in the space of one week which impressed the locals. The Volunteering task was conducted through Sambhav Nepal and since then the college has pursuaded for a long term relationship and is one of the major supporter of Sambhav Nepal Foundation.
